Connected to Al Seef is the Al Fahidi historical neighbourhood of Bur Dubai. Still fondly referred to by some as “Al Bastakiya,” its old name, this is one of Dubai’s oldest heritage site, pre-dating the union of the Emirati tribes in 1971 with much of the original infrastructure preserved and intact. We’ll meander through its winding, narrow alleyways and maze-like quarters while being surrounded by ochre-coloured buildings made of palm wood, coral, mud or gypsum. More great content will be captured here with backgrounds of traditional wind towers, art installations, mosques and architectural effects
Our last stop on the itinerary is the famous Gold Souk located on the Deira side of the creek. This is one of the oldest traditional markets in the emirate with some fascinating window displays from glittering jewelry stores. Aside to the marketplace which we’ll walk through, there are also some interesting wall murals along the way which we’ll be stopping at before we wrap up and make our return back to where we started our day’s journey.
